Benny Spiewak

Benny Spiewak, CCEP-I, CHC, is the manager at SPLaw and coordinates the Intellectual Property and Life Sciences practices.
He is an experienced and licensed Brazilian attorney (Bachelor of Laws from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, São Paulo, 2001) and a registered patent agent.
He earned specialist certifications in Intellectual Property and Technology Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (São Paulo, 2006) and the Franklin Pierce Law Center at the University of New Hampshire (Concord, 2006).
He was the Brazilian representative at the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Intellectual Property Summer Academy (Geneva, 2007) and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Law with an emphasis on Life Sciences from The George Washington University (Washington, D.C., 2009).
He served as a Foreign Associate in the Office of International Intellectual Property Law and Policy at BIO (Washington, D.C., 2009). He acted as rapporteur for the International IP Law Committee and was a Board Member of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI, 2010–2018).
He is the academic coordinator at LEC – Legal, Ethics & Compliance (São Paulo, 2015–present). He is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI). Benny has been continuously ranked among the leading IP and Life Sciences professionals in Brazil. He teaches Health Law, IP, and Innovation at FIA and Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, in São Paulo.
